Statement from National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan Welcoming Developments in Iraq’s Energy Sector

We welcome significant progress in Iraq this week with respect to energy deals that further strengthen Iraq’s sovereignty, independence, and economic prosperity.  First, the Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government reached a historic agreement on the export of oil and management of revenues through the Iraq-Turkey Pipeline.  This agreement paves the way for a multi-year budget now before Iraq’s Council of Representatives and an eventual hydrocarbons law for long-term stability and predictability in Iraq’s energy sector.  Second, the Government of Iraq reached an unprecedented $27 billion deal with France’s TotalEnergies, including a project to enable the recapture and…

Statement from President Joe Biden on March Jobs Report

This is a good jobs report for hard-working Americans. Today’s report shows that we continue to face economic challenges from a position of strength, with the economy adding 236,000 jobs last month and the unemployment rate at 3.5%. My economic agenda has powered an historic economic recovery. We’ve created 12.6 million jobs since I took office. The unemployment rate is close to the lowest it has been in more than 50 years and a record low for African Americans. Thanks to the policies we have put in place, the recovery is creating good jobs that you can raise a family…

A Proclamation on National Former Prisoner Of War Recognition Day, 2023

On National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day, we honor the more than half a million service members who sacrificed their freedom as prisoners of war in order to defend freedom for their fellow Americans.  These brave patriots remind us of the grave costs of war and the sacrifice we ask of those who fight for us.  We owe them and their families, caregivers, and survivors a debt of gratitude we can never fully repay.      This year, we mark the 50th anniversary of Operation Homecoming, the repatriation of nearly 600 Americans held captive during the Vietnam War, as…

War Day 34 :: conversations with @Alexey Arestovych

There is a lot of pro-Putin bias in the Western world. We aim to dispel this “macho” propaganda and reveal true colors of his regime: murder, intimidation, industrialized kleptocracy and well-funded russian fascism propaganda machines. We were born in Russia, we have lost friends to this murderer… we see how he “zombifies” most and intimidates and beats down the rest. We also know where his weak spots are and what atrocities his regime is committing on a daily basis. Message from the source channel owner. Statement from President Joe Biden on Expulsion of Tennessee Lawmakers for Acting on Gun Safety

Last week, three more students and three school officials were gunned down in yet another tragic mass shooting in Nashville. On Monday, 7,000 Tennesseans, many of them students, marched to their state capitol to call on their lawmakers to take action and keep them safe. Instead, state Republican lawmakers called votes today to expel three Democratic legislators who stood in solidarity with students and families and helped lift their voices. Today’s expulsion of lawmakers who engaged in peaceful protest is shocking, undemocratic, and without precedent. Rather than debating the merits of the issue, these Republican lawmakers have chosen to punish, silence, and…

Statement by Vice President Kamala Harris on Americans’ Continued Rebuke of Attacks on Reproductive Rights

This week’s election in Wisconsin reaffirmed what we already know to be true: the majority of Americans believe and agree that every woman, not her government, should have the freedom to make decisions about her own body. After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, voters have rejected measures to take away reproductive rights and supported measures to strengthen them every time the measures were on the ballot. We saw that last year in states across our nation, including in Kansas, California, Michigan, Montana, Kentucky, and Vermont. Similarly, we saw Americans standing up for reproductive freedom this week in Wisconsin.  Since the Dobbs decision,…
